Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, calls for establishment of base schools in the rural area, and provision of transportation of children and teachers to the place of studies and work.
"Nowadays, a pupil of a city school obtains a larger scope of information, than a pupil of a village school", - stated Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, delivering a speech at the theoretical and practical conference "Implementation of the State Policy related to the Development of Education in Ivano-Frankivsk Region". "Therefore, we are confronted with the dilemma of social populism, on the one hand, and scientific pragmatism, on the other hand", - declared A.Yatseniuk.
A.Yatseniuk deems necessary to provide schools not only with computers, but also with high-speed access to the Internet, to the world databases.
Thus, he stated that computer without Internet connection "is only a heap of scrap metal". "Computerization of schools without high-speed access to the global net is of no value", - underscored A.Yatseniuk.
He emphasized that system and information flows had changed considerably. "We are in need of complex program of school computerization with Internet and access to the worldwide net provided", - declared A.Yatseniuk.
